Project: "FREE Health Talk & Health Screening"

Lions Club of Sungai Buloh jointly organized a "FREE Health Talk & Health Screening" Project with Tropicana Medical Centre (TMC) at the Warga Emas Club House on 25th September 2011. There was a very encouraging response from more than 60 senior citizens who participated in this Health Talk and Screening Session.
The Health Talk was started off by Dr. Soong Kean Leong, (Consultant Orthopaedic, Traumatology Arthroplastry & Sport Injury Surgeon) from TMC. He shared valuable insights about Osteoarthritis and Management of Back Pain and Knee Protection.
This was followed by another Talk on the 10 Early Warning Signs & Symptoms of Cancer – emphasizing on stomach & large intestine cancer. It was presented by Dr Kwan Keat Leong, Consultant General & Gastrointestinal Surgeon, also from TMC.
This Project gave these citizens useful medical direction and warm reminders about these two dreaded diseases. Huge credit definitely is due to Tropicana Medical Centre for sending such a great team to be of great service to society. We hope that by imparting the knowledge to them, The Lions Club has helped initiate yet another Project to help improve the quality of life for Seniors in particular and the nation at large.
