IMPIAN Charity Carnival 2011

IMPIAN was established as a charitable foundation in September 2001 by two local doctors, Datin Dr. K. Mangalaveni and Prof. Dr. Zasmani Shafiee. Both have Sons, now in their early thirties who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder and both have battled with the lack of provision and understanding here in Malaysia. Their dream or vision is to create a service to support people with Autistic and their families from per-diagnosis and throughout their life as needed.

What makes IMPIAN is different from other schools and centres is its emphasis on meeting the holistic needs of the child.

Their ultimate goal would be begin a sheltered community project for people with Autism and Related Disorders to live meaningful lives within a working environment and the community.

All this needs an emphasis on a core of people with adequate training and understanding. They are therefore undertaking a rolling training program to be carried out in the workplace with thought and practical skills disseminated by the team of Special Education experts. This will ensure a strong base for future expansion and provide IMPIAN with trainers to continue the growth of professionalism in Special Needs personal throughout Malaysia.

This dream needs Money and Support to be realized. The commitment and expertise is in place but now they need your help to achieve that dream.

IMPIAN welcomes contributions and/or sponsorships in cash or kind that will eventually help them to improve and enrich IMPIAN’s vision and mission.

Should you require any clarifications, Please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Madhya (IMPIAN Coordinator at 012-307 6830).

News 2011-2012

Joint Installation of Board of Directors 2011-2012
Venue : Eastin Hotel
Date : 26th June 2011
Time : 7.00pm

It was a historic night of fraternal comradeship, fun, food and fellowship at The Simultaneous Joint Installation of the Newly Appointed Board Of Directors from 7 Lions Clubs.  The Grand Welcome extended to these incoming 2011-2012 Lions Club Directors was held on 26th June 2011 at Eastin Hotel. It was the first time these Clubs came together to install their Leaders. The magnificent 7 comprised - Lions Club Subang Jaya, PJ Mutiara, Sungai Buloh, Ampang City Garden, Sunway, Puchong and last but not least, the Lioness from Club Subang Jaya.

The Members of the Board of Directors stood as their duties were reviewed and they pledged to fulfill the obligations of their appointments.

Although such gatherings among the Clubs was not new, it set a new record in terms of Unity, Collaboration, as well as Synergizing Efforts to Avoid Duplication and Share Resources was concerned. This naturally paved the way for getting better results from future projects.

The Organizers of this Function had to work TOGETHER, and this  opened new gateways to communicate, share and learn from one another. In the process, it help strengthen the fellowship between the Committee Members, who represented their individual clubs, pooling their individual strengths into a cohesive whole!

As we march forward to make the years ahead more significant, we hope to deepen and enhance the Lion Spirit. TOGETHER we shall harness our energy, improve our efficiency and maximize our productivity to new heights of excellence and new dimensions, just as our founder, Lion Melvin Jones had envisaged.
