IMPIAN Charity Carnival 2011

IMPIAN was established as a charitable foundation in September 2001 by two local doctors, Datin Dr. K. Mangalaveni and Prof. Dr. Zasmani Shafiee. Both have Sons, now in their early thirties who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder and both have battled with the lack of provision and understanding here in Malaysia. Their dream or vision is to create a service to support people with Autistic and their families from per-diagnosis and throughout their life as needed.

What makes IMPIAN is different from other schools and centres is its emphasis on meeting the holistic needs of the child.

Their ultimate goal would be begin a sheltered community project for people with Autism and Related Disorders to live meaningful lives within a working environment and the community.

All this needs an emphasis on a core of people with adequate training and understanding. They are therefore undertaking a rolling training program to be carried out in the workplace with thought and practical skills disseminated by the team of Special Education experts. This will ensure a strong base for future expansion and provide IMPIAN with trainers to continue the growth of professionalism in Special Needs personal throughout Malaysia.

This dream needs Money and Support to be realized. The commitment and expertise is in place but now they need your help to achieve that dream.

IMPIAN welcomes contributions and/or sponsorships in cash or kind that will eventually help them to improve and enrich IMPIAN’s vision and mission.

Should you require any clarifications, Please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Madhya (IMPIAN Coordinator at 012-307 6830).
